The difference between counter height and bar height

counter height & bar height refer to the height of the underside of the table or the top of the seat in home/restaurant seating. if your barstool, for instance is “counter height” then the top of the seat is 24″ from the ground – if you sat in it you could comfortably slide your legs under a counter or table at standard counter height, where the top of the counter is 34-36″ from the ground. likewise, a bar height stool is usually 29-36″H so you can fit your legs under the bar, the top of which is usually 40-43″ from the floor (think the bar in a restauraunt)
